FR //

The piece Motile cilia marks the first collaboration between Montreal artists Maxime Corbeil-Perron and Stephanie Castonguay. Propelled by an experimental approach, the duo unites under the pseudonym ORA.

The resulting sound universe is a combination of custom-made electronic instruments, prepared piano, guitar, electromagnetic field generators/sensors, and sound synthesis. Exploring the tension between opposing spaces, the piece Motile cilia takes shape through a multitude of collages composed of abstract electronic landscapes and textures resulting from a meeting between low-tech, DIY, improvisation and algorithmic generators.
